1999 A study committee of the diocese recommends that Holy Trinity and Holy Martyrs of Gorcum be linked and eventually merged.
2002 Fr. Merk retires. The parish is left without a permanent pastor for a year. Fr. Finian serves in the interim.

A timeline can give dates and milestones but it doesn’t reflect is the joys and the struggles of the people of the parish in its more than 120 year-existence. It does not reflect the sacramental celebrations or the community events like the annual picnics, card parties, and coffee and rolls Sundays. It also does not reflect the pain that change can bring. But what it does reflect is a love of God that binds its people together
